One-of-a-kind Kolibri Collection leather bags are handmade using vintage Mayan textiles purchased from local market vendors. All of the fabrics seen in our bags were hand-stitched by a Guatemalan woman who then wore it as a blouse or skirt for many years. The huipil and corte are part of every woman's traditional dress in this region. By using techniques passed down over hundreds of years, each pattern is totally unique and distinctive of the region where the artisan lives. The materials we use in our bags are literally pieces of art and deeply connected to the Mayan culture.
